FEATURED TRIP
To Hindu's around the world, Mt. Kailash is regarded in many sects of Hinduism as paradise, the ultimate destination of souls and the spiritual center of the world. Shiva, the destroyer of evil and sorrow, resides at the summit in a perpetual meditation along with his partner Parvati, the daughter of Himalaya.
The Tantric Buddhists believe that Kailash is the home of the Buddha Demchok who represents supreme bliss.
There are numerous sites in the region associated with Guru Rinpoche whose Tantric practices in holy sites around Tibet are credited with finally establishing Buddhism as the main religion of the country in the 7th-8th Century.
Today it is only the hardiest adventure travelers, along with Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims who ever reach this magical and spiritual destination of Mt. Kailash.
The journey is long, rough and lacking in creature comforts. Despite this, Mt. Kailash has for centuries had a magnetic allure.
Join our challenging hiking adventure to the rooftop of the world. Participate in the pilgrimage to Mt. Kailash, the most holy mountain in all of Central Asia. This 33-mile (53 km) walk over 3 days allows us to experience the devotion of Tibetans as we join them in purifying our souls. We also visit Everest Base Camp (on the Tibetan side) and also see the Potala Palace, the Jokang Temple and the city of Lhasa during our adventure. For the true adventurer, this trip is a once in a lifetime opportunity.
