TIES logoELDERTREKS, THE INTERNATIONAL YEAR OF ECOTOURISM AND THE GREAT BEAR RAINFOREST

The United Nations has designated
2002 as the International Year of Ecotourism, providing an opportunity to highlight and showcase the many positive examples worldwide of how ecotourism has benefited local cultures, wild areas, and economic growth.

Grizzly bearElderTreks is donating the proceeds of one of our Khutzeymateen trips to The International Ecotourism Society (TIES), the only non-profit organization in the world dedicated to promoting sustainable ecotourism.

The Khutzeymateen Valley in the Great Bear Rainforest is a premier destination for grizzly bear viewing. The valley is located off the west coast of British Columbia, Canada and is best visited by ship.

We would like to thank all those who have helped to protect this special habitat.
