Welcome to Old Europe! With cobblestone streets, Roman ruins, cosmopolitan cities, quaint towns, and medieval monasteries, Bulgaria and Macedonia are two of the last European hidden gems.

Join us as we explore remarkable cultural landmarks, pristine nature, UNESCO sites and meet friendly local people on our 15 day adventure in off the beaten track Europe.

Explore the 5,000 year old cosmopolitan capital city Sofia, with its wide boulevards, grand churches, and open-air cafes. Travel to the city of Plovdiv, one of Europe’s oldest cities, and explore the impressive amphitheater, Roman Odeon and Roman Stadium.

Hike through Bulgaria’s open pastures, passing old farmhouses and tiny villages. Travel through the breathtaking Rodopi Mountains which offer stunning views of the region. Visit Rila Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Our scenic route continues through wonderfully picturesque mountains and lush green countryside, where brisk walks though forests and orchid meadows, are accompanied by hearty lunches.

Tour Heraclea, founded in the 4th century and marvel at the pristine condition of the ancient buildings. Overnight in Ohrid with its Old Town and splendid display of bazaars, and experience the magnificent Lake Ohrid on an afternoon cruise. The friendly locals will delight us with their folkloric music and dance. Rich in fine architecture, ancient chruches, monasteries, nestled in picturesque mountains and lakes, Bulgaria and Macedonia offers the perfect off the beaten track adventure for seldom traveled Eastern Europe.
