Welcome to Old Europe... remote, unexploited and unspoiled. With cobblestone streets, Roman ruins, cosmopolitan cities, quaint towns, medieval monasteries and castles, UNESCO sites and pristine nature, Albania, Bulgaria and Macedonia are easily some of Europe's last, mostly unexplored gems. We also visit Kotor (Montenegro) and Corfu (Greece).

In Albania, we start in the capital of Tirana before heading to historic Shkodra. We journey to the town of Kotor (Montenegro), one of the best preserved medieval towns. Returning to Albania, enjoy scenic drives to Roman ruins, a local winery, the ancient cities of Berat, Butrint.

In Macedonia, visit Heraclea founded in the 4th century BC. In Orhid, we visit it's beautiful lake with it's famous monastery on it's shores. The friendly locals will delight us with their folkloric music and dance.

Explore the 5,000 year old cosmopolitan capital city Sofia, with its wide boulevards, grand churches, and open-air cafes. Travel to the city of Plovdiv, one of Europe's oldest cities. Walk through Bulgaria's open pastures, passing old farm homes and tiny villages. Travel through the breathtaking Rodopi Mountains which offer stunning views of the region. Visit Rila Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Albania, Bulgaria and Macedonia offer the perfect off-the-beaten track adventure in seldom traveled Eastern Europe.
