In the Amazon, enjoy the wildlife including a plethora of birdlife, primates, caimen and of course, keeping an eye out for grey and pink dolphins. We explore the Amazon both in Brazil and Colombia.

A trip to Colombia would not be complete without a visit to a coffee plantation and hacienda. Savour the beautiful surroundings of Pereira, one of the premier coffee regions in the world. Enjoy a day of hiking (optional horseback riding) in the nearby spectacular Cocora Valley. Visit a traditional Andean market in Silvia and savour the impressive colonial architecture in the Andean towns of Villa de Leyva, Bogota (including the Gold museum), Popoyan and Barichara. The crown jewel is Cartegena on the coast which is arguably the most beautiful colonial city in the Americas.

The ancient statues of San Agustin are numerous (over 600 in total) and mysterious. No one knows who created them and why. Dating from 1000 to 5000 years, the statues depict people, animals, pregnant women, monsters and even combines people and animals. The tallest is 21 ' high and there are many burial sites.
