Cruise Tierra Del Fuego - Exploring the Glaciers of Chile

Overview  •  Detailed Itinerary  •  FAQ's  •  Testimonials

Day 1: Depart Punta Arenas

Check in between 1 and 5 pm in Punta Arenas. Board the ship at 6 pm. The crew, headed by the Captain, will host a welcoming cocktail on board. Immediately afterwards, the ship will depart through the mythical Strait of Magellan.

Cruising the channels and inlets of Tierra del Fuego we head to Cape Horn National Park and the frontier town atmosphere of Ushuaia in Argentina. It is the beginning of a great adventure!

Day 2: Ainsworth Bay, Tucker Islet

With the first light of dawn, we find ourselves in Almirantazgo Fjord cruising to Ainsworth Bay. Here we will sight the Marinelli Glacier and take a walk through the Magellan Forest to the nearby elephant seal colony. After some spectacular cruising we will disembark to hike near the Brookes Glacier.

Day 3: Pia Glacier, Glacier Avenue

Navigating the main part of the Beagle Channel, we enter Pia Bay and disembark near the glacier of the same name. There is an opportunity to walk to an observation point that offers an excellent view of the mountain range where the glacier originates and, with luck, see icebergs calving into the sea.

After this unforgettable experience, we cruise the majestic "Glacier Avenue" in the northwest arm of the Beagle Channel. Here we find the Spain, Romanche, Germany, Italy, France and Holland Glaciers. Truly a spectacular collection.

Day 4: Cape Horn and Puerto Willams

Navigating through the Beagle and Murray Channels, we plan to disembark in Cape Horn National Park, weather permitting. Cape Horn is almost vertical and 435 meters high, marking the point where the Atlantic and Pacific oceans meet. It was named in 1616 by Dutchmen Le Maire and Schouten, who named the cape for their ship Hoorne.

In the afternoon we will disembark in Puerto Williams, the southernmost town in the world. In this remote, windswept spot, we may see the original bow of the Yelcho which rescued Ernest Shackelton's Antarctic expedition from Elephant Island in 1916 and we have the opportunity to visit the Museum Martin Gusinde.

Day 5: Ushuaia

This morning we arrive in Ushuaia, the most important Argentinian city in Tierra del Fuego and the southernmost city in the world. Here we disembark, concluding our adventure at approximately 8 am.
