From Bucharest to Budapest: Transylvania's Architectural Treasures
When you hear the word "Transylvania", and the only structure that comes to mind is a turreted castle inhabited by a blood-sucking night creature, it might be time to get to know a completely different Transylvania. Castles, indeed, are part of the Romanian and Hungarian landscapes that make up this region, (even if Dracula isn't), but there are also other architectural gems to be discovered here, including Saxon villages, Gothic churches, painted monasteries, and palaces that not only hold priceless works of art, but are works of art themselves.

Exploring Tribal Ethiopia
About 6-12 months before marriage, young Mursi women in the Omo River valley of Ethiopia have their lips pierced to begin the process of inserting increasingly larger 'labrets' or decorative lip plates. Reaching a final diameter between 3 and 8 inches, these plates are a symbol of social and economic importance, and are a type of adornment only practiced by a few cultures today, the Mursi being one of them. You’ll meet these fascinating people, and many more on our Ethiopian adventure. Learn more here.
Small Ship Adventures Onboard the Aranui
This is no 5000-person mega-ton monster ship! With no more than 200 passengers total, joining the crew aboard the passenger/freighter Aranui III is more about exploring French Polynesia closeup and personally than it is about cruise-ship crooners and all-you-can-eat buffets. Discover the beautiful islands and tropical waters surrounding Tahiti, Bora Bora and the Marquesas, as the ship stops off at small ports to deliver cargo, giving you the chance to hike, explore the culture, or snorkel in the crystal clear waters.
