Day 2: Explore the Grand Circuit of Angkor Wat

Following breakfast, we explore one of man's most magnificent creations, Angkor Wat, the largest and most breathtaking monument of Angkor. It was built as the funerary temple for Suryavarman II, who ruled from 1112 to 1152. Angkor never fails to reward the first time or repeat visitor with its grand scale, surreal bas-reliefs and unbelievable attention to detail.

After lunch, we explore the fortified city of Angkor Thom, built by Angkor's greatest king, Jayavarman VII, who ruled from 1181 to 1201. We spend the afternoon exploring the Bayon, Baphuon, Phimeanakas, the Terraces of Elephants, and Leper King. We finish our exciting day enjoying breathtaking sunset views at the Pre Rub Temple followed by a dinner performance of classical Cambodian dance at a local restaurant.

Overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 3: Srah Srang, Banteay Kdei and Eastern Mebon Temples

This morning visit Kravan, Srah Srang, Banteay Kdei and Eastern Mebon temples. In the afternoon explore Ta Prohm. Built in 1186, it was dedicated to the mother of Jayavarman VII. Its atmospheric dark-grey sandstone towers and courtyards exude an aura of reverence and mystery. We also enjoy the Preah Khan Temple. Enjoy your dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 4: The Citadel of Women, Boat Trip to Tonle Sap Lake

This morning we visit Banteay Srei, "The Citadel of Women". Tucked away in the countryside, sandstone carvings are better preserved here than most temples at Angkor. We then explore the Landmine Museum before lunch in a local restaurant.

After lunch, we drive to Mechrey village on Tonle Sap Lake. Enroute we stop at Ampil Peam and stroll through this traditional village where the locals live much as they have for centuries. We continue to Mechrey, a small community on Tonle Sap Lake and board a local style boat to explore this beautiful area.
